Georgian football welcome several key recruitment targets this weekend during their official visits to Athens, including the 2023 elite prospect Manning Arch, the highest-ranked quarterback and No. 1 player overall in next year’s cycle according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Georgia is the first of three officials scheduled in June for the uncommitted Manning, which is considering Georgia, Texas and Alabama.
As a custom on recruiting tours, Manning flexed with other rookies in Georgia’s locker room, posing for glamorous photos in the Bulldogs’ new white uniforms.
Judge Haynesa four-star running back from 2023, is also visiting Georgia and posted several photos of Manning on his Instagram Story on Friday.
The white helmet is a new addition to the Bulldogs’ uniform options heading into the 2022 season.
According to Kipp Adams of Dawgs247, Georgia Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken was present at Manning’s spring game three weeks ago. Manning was in Athens last summer, for a game last fall, and returned in March to attend spring training.
“He and his dad loved the training organization,” head coach Isidore Newman said. Nelson Stewart told 247Sports recruiting director Steve Wiltfong. “It was really, just everyone was still moving. They loved the meetings and the installations with Coach (Todd) Monken. It seemed like the structure was just awesome. Everything flowed and attention to detail. Clearly, Kirby’s enthusiasm, not just with starters but with substitutes, was something the two said was awesome. Kirby’s energy, you see him on the sideline, drives all of his players, not just a specific group.
“Obviously they love Athens. I love the facilities and I think they came away reaffirmed with things they thought. Incredibly well organized, energetic and I’m glad he’s able to go to meetings and practice and see how things really go. That’s the good thing about Arch, his family, this recruiting. It’s not about bells and whistles it’s about getting into the weeds and seeing how things work and building those relationships and I think both came back very excited about everything that he saw.
Manning will travel to Alabama and Texas later this month.
“Their quarterbacking game has been insane the last two years,” Manning said of the Crimson Tide last month during an interview with 247Sports. “With Bryce, Mac, Tua and all those guys. There’s really nothing wrong with Alabama. It’s a machine and some really great guys there. I just want to build the relationship a little more and see Tuscaloosa , I guess, one more time.”
247Sports national analyst Cooper Petagna attended Manning’s spring game in May.
“Overall, Manning’s performance was about as clean as it gets as the nation’s best passer performed the way we expected when the lights were on,” Petagna wrote. “While it’s important to take controlled training parameters with a grain of salt, Manning seemed to be in full control across the board as a setter on Friday.”
