ESPN renames college football app to ‘Championship Drive’ and gives it a big makeover in v4.0

Dear football fans. Remember that makeover you weren’t sure you had? Well, one of ESPN’s many sports apps does that for you. Not only does the College Football network app look like a whole new person, it also has a new name. ESPN Championship Drive, although it’s version 4, wants you to see it as a separate individual.

The transformation is not just superficial. The updated app offers quick access to your team’s scores and standings with its new tabbed layout. There’s a lot of news to digest when there’s no game, as well as a new video section. And yes, you can also keep an eye out for fantasy teams.

Take a look at the changelog below, then say hello to the new old app at the link below.

What’s new:

  • All new improved design

  • Scores tab with separate section for quick access to the scores of your favorite teams.

  • Champ Drive tab with the best stories curated by the editorial staff, as well as a fully video section.

  • The Rankings tab includes information on how the new playoff committee rankings work.

  • Play tab with quick access to Fantasy College Football games.

  • New game pages with instant video clips (coming soon)
