‘Flying kick’ martial arts thief arrested in Alicante
A martial arts kicking thief arrested in Alicante, Spain after violently assaulting a tobacconist.
Agents of the Alicante National Police in Spain successfully arrested the alleged perpetrator. The 19-year-old Nigerian national is said to have broken into a tobacco shop in the city’s Playa San Juan neighborhood. He also assaulted the tobacconist using martial arts techniques, including a flying kick.
The Operational Chamber 091 of the National Police was alerted to a violent assault taking place in the street. Several national police patrols visited the area and were able to quickly locate the alleged assailant.
As soon as the assailant noticed that the police were approaching him, he first stopped and then tried to run away. Officers were able to quickly grab the man and the chase ended just a few blocks from the scene of the attack.
After the alleged assailant was surrounded, he attempted to self-harm with a broken glass bottle he found on the ground. The officers responded quickly and prevented him from injuring himself.
As 20 Minutes reported, “The 51-year-old victim told officers he was working in his tobacco shop when he noticed the inmate taking items without paying for them, so he chased him around. the street to ask him to pay for them. “
The tobacconist was allegedly attacked with a flying kick in the chest followed by another kick which knocked him to the ground. After that, he was repeatedly kicked all over his body until the police arrived.
