Liverpool Football Club has been recognized as a leader in online matchday innovation after winning the Best Use of Technology award at the 2021 Football Business Awards.
The club were crowned the winner of the distinction after impressing the judges with the launch of its forward-thinking Match Center Platform.
In collaboration with Monterosa – an industry-leading innovator in real-time engagement in interactive experiences – the club developed Match Center to give fans access to a range of interactive and gaming experiences, including including line-up and score predictors, polls, trivia, votes, live audio commentary, videos and social coverage, all supported by a live text commentary stream of every Liverpool first team game.
What started as a new way to keep fans engaged during lockdown times quickly turned into a fun and dynamic approach to keeping the interaction and passion going as fans returned to stadiums, before, during and after games. .
