GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – Aaarrrggghhh are you ready for a busy weekend in Greenville? There’s plenty to see and do, and it’s all about pirates.
PirateFest, the annual festival of all things pirate, takes place this Friday and Saturday in the Uptown Greenville area. The event begins at 5 p.m. and will continue until Saturday evening.
What’s Happenin’: Events and Activities Not to Miss at ENC
The festival attracts around 35,000 people and over 150 vendors for the two-day event which features live music, food, art and, of course, pirates. The event covers eight city blocks, which are marked off for everyone to enjoy, along Evans Street.
Headliners announced for PirateFest 2022
Presented by Sup Dogs and Suddenlink, PirateFest will kick off with performances by DJ Tay James on Friday night and conclude with Eric Paslay on Saturday night.
On Friday, the festival kicks off with opening act TrainWreck followed by the main performance by DJ Tay James. On Saturday, pirate shenanigans will take place all day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with BMX shows, mermaids, pirates and more. Be sure to wear your best pirate costume for the costume contest at 11 a.m. End the day at the Town Common with the music of Grammy-nominated singer Eric Paslay.

It’s all part of a busy weekend that also includes East Carolina University’s 37th Annual Great Pirate Purple/Gold Pigskin Pig-Out Party, which also takes place this Friday and Saturday. All events will take place at the Grady-White Boats Athletic Campus on Saturday. This includes a busy weekend of ECU sports including baseball, softball and the annual spring football game.
